Success Lies Beyond the Fear of Failure

Don’t stop digging.

Sometimes, we quit when success is inches away.

We tell ourselves that we had to quit. There was no other choice. What we don’t realize is that success was so close. Of course, we’ll never know that success was as close as it was. There’s some consolation in that thought.

There is a good reason we quit pursuing our goals. They were too big. I’m not saying don’t set big goals. But there was probably a huge gap between your actions and that goal. So large that any forward movement towards the goal didn’t feel like progress (when it actually was).

Understandably, we get frustrated. And we throw concepts like “opportunity cost” out there to justify our decision to quit. “Since I’m not progressing with this goal, I may as well quit… there are other goals I’m not pursuing because I’m pursuing this one…”

The rationalization train has taken off and it’s gaining momentum. Tough to overcome.

It’s all about prep work and the right mindset.

Focus on processes and routines, not outcomes. Don’t stress about the final result. Instead, keep your eyes on the daily grind — your routines and processes. By nailing those, the outcomes will naturally follow. It’s like planting seeds and watering them every day; eventually, you’ll get a flourishing garden without obsessing over each flower.

Progress, not perfection. Embrace the journey of improvement. Aim for steady progress over perfect outcomes (what is that anyways?). Each step forward, no matter how small, builds momentum and growth. Perfection can paralyze, but progress fuels motivation and confidence. Celebrate each win along the way. Keep moving forward and enjoy the ride.

Set ambitious goals. But break them down so you can see how your progressing. Set big, bold goals to fuel your motivation. But remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day! Break your goals into smaller, manageable steps. This way, you can track your progress and stay motivated, celebrating small wins along the way. It’s all about building momentum, one step at a time.

There are obstacles between you and success. But you can overcome them.
